Don Phillips, Jr.
1953-2003
"No Pain, No Gain" was Don's last feature film. Over the years he acted in
many movies and television shows including "Lone Star," "Waiting for
Guffman," "Bottle Rocket," "More Than Two Dollars" (co-star), "Heaven Help
Us," and "A Woman of Independent Means."
For over 10 years Don was also the owner/producer of Murder by Design
Productions, an interactive mystery/comedy entertainment company specializing
in corporate events. He has designed, written, cast and produced/directed
more than 100 events since 1991 for more major corporations including 3M,
Dell, Ernst & Young, Motorola, PricewaterhouseCoopers and many others.
Don also wrote and/or directed more than 50 productions in various media
including theater, radio, television and video. Don was also a retired
Captain from the United States Army Signal Corps. His primary active duty
assignment was as a Public Affairs Officer for 101st Airborne Division. He
built WEGL, a 10-watt local carrier radio broadcast facility at Ft.
Campbell, Kentucky. He also spent 10 years in public affairs for the Texas
Army National Guard, Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas.
