After hopping from Dallas to Tulsa to Vegas and L.A. with a rock-n-roll band, Kim landed in New York City where she worked as an actress and comedian for almost 20 years. Kim graduated with honors receiving her BFA from NYU. She also studied at the Strasberg Theatre Institute, The Actors' Studio and Circle in the Square. Her teachers include Lee Strasberg, Geoffrey Horne, Michael Moriarty and Pam Poitier.
Her film credits include "Six in Austin" ("Out of Bounds"), "Midnight Taco," "In the Blood," "Private Parts," "Hackers," "Cadillac Man" and "Daylight." On television she has appeared on "Law & Order," "Feds," "Central Park West," "One Life to Live" and the "Dr. Ruth Show." Her numerous stage credits include "LuAnn Hampton Laverty Oberlander," "Everything in the Garden," "Nuts," "Waiting for Godot," "The Seagull" and "Taming of the Shrew." Kim was nominated for a Best Actress Austin Critics Award for her portrayal of LuAnn Hampton Laverty Oberlander.
Kim is founder and artistic director of 4th & 1 Productions, a contemporary theater company based in Austin. Her 4th & 1 directorial credits include "True West," "Laundry and Bourbon" and "Lunch Hour." She is president of New York Operations for Tapwater Entertainment and associate producer for "On Deck" and "What A Pair" as well as executive producer of "Broadway on Base," a documentary about the Broadway Show League, New York's pre-eminent softball tournament. Kim has been a member of the league since 1984 and has served on the Board of Directors numerous seasons and is extremely honored to be a member of the leagues' All-Century Team. She has managed the Actors' Equity Team for the last 8 years and was voted Manager of the Year in 1997, 1998 and 2002.
